2. What is a cookie?
Cookies are small files containing letters and numbers, punctuation and other technical characters that are stored on your device (computer, mobile phone, tablet, smart TV, etc.) when you visit certain websites. They are IT data that the web server sends to the user’s browser, are stored on the user’s device and are sent back to the server by the browser each time it requests data from the web server. We use HotJar to better understand our users’ needs and to optimise this service and the user experience. Hotjar is a service that helps us to better understand our users’ habits (e.g. how much time they spend on each page, which links they click on, what they like and dislike, etc.) and allows us to build and maintain our service based on user feedback. Hotjar uses cookies and other technologies to collect data about our users’ behaviour and their devices. This includes the IP address of the device (which is processed during the session and stored in an unidentified form), the screen size of the device, the type of device (unique device identifiers), browser information, geographic location (identifying country only) and the language used to display our website. Hotjar stores this information in a pseudonymous user profile. Hotjar is prohibited from selling the information collected on our behalf.
3.3.2. Meta-pixel
The Website uses the Meta pixel (formerly Facebook Pixel) of the Facebook social network Meta Platforms Ireland Limited, 4 Grand Canal Square, Grand Canal Harbour, Dublin 2, Ireland (Meta) for the following purposes:
The Data Controller uses the Meta pixel for remarketing purposes. This allows the Controller to display interest-based advertisements to users of the Website when they visit the Facebook social network or other websites that also use this tool, in this way the Controller can display advertisements of interest to the data subject in order to make the Website more interesting for Users. The meta-page is also used by the Data Controller to provide Users with Facebook advertisements that are relevant to their interests. The Meta-screen allows the Data Controller to monitor the effectiveness of Facebook ads for statistical and marketing research purposes. Thanks to the marketing tools used, the User’s browser automatically establishes a direct connection with the Facebook server as soon as the User has consented to the use of cookies that require authorisation.
By integrating the Meta-screen, the Meta receives the information that the User has opened the Website or clicked on an advertisement of the Data Controller. If the User has registered for one of Meta’s services, Meta may associate the visit with the User’s account. The processing of such data by Meta is subject to the Meta Platforms Ireland Limited Privacy Notice. In relation to the Meta-screen, the Data Controller and Meta Platforms Ireland Limited, 4 Grand Canal Square, Grand Canal Harbour, Dublin 2, Ireland (Meta) are considered as joint controllers for the purposes of the generation and optimisation of personalised and relevant advertising and the delivery of related messages via the Meta system. For the processing that takes place after the data have been collected and transmitted, only Meta is considered the data controller. The reports and analyses are produced in aggregated and anonymised form. The data are processed by the Data Controller in the course of joint processing on the basis of the legitimate interest pursuant to Article 6(1)(f) GDPR.
3.3.3. Google Ads
During visits to the Site, the Site sends one or more cookies to the visitor’s computer, which will allow the User’s browser to be uniquely identified. These cookies are provided by Google and are used through Google Ads. These cookies are only sent to the visitor’s computer when visiting certain sub-pages of the Website, i.e. only the fact and time of the visit to the sub-page in question is stored by the Data Controller, no other information. Google will use these cookies to store if the data subject has visited the Website before and, on this basis, to display advertisements to the user on the websites of partners of external service providers, including Google. Google will not associate the User’s IP address with any other data held by Google. The User’s IP address is stored anonymously and cannot be linked to any personal data.
